REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION FOR ART SCHOLARSHIP
The Lodi Community Art Center will award scholarships of $1,000.00 and $500.00 to two 2012 graduating high school seniors. Submission of applications are due to LCAC between March 1, 2012 and March 31, 2012.
These are the requirements for applying for one of these scholarships:
1) Applicants must be a graduating senior for a public or private high school within the boundaries of the Lodi Unified School district or be a resident living within LUSD.
2) They must submit an artist’s portfolio with a minimum of 6 to 10 pieces of art using a minimum of two different mediums.
3) They must show plans to pursue a major or minor in visual arts at a college or university next year.
4) They must provide a typed essay of 500 words or less answering “Why I feel that I deserve the LCAC Student Scholarship”.
5) They must submit a copy of report card grades for the two most recent quarters/semesters, with a GPA of 2.5 or better.
6) They must provide two letters of recommendation, one from an art teacher and one from a non-art teacher or high school counselor.
Scholarships will be awarded in two increments. Half will be reimbursement for the first semester/quarter and half for the second semester or third quarter.
